Raksha Bandhan 2009
On 5th August, 2009, Raksha Bandhan is celebrated worldwide. To strengthen the love between brothers and sisters, a sacred thread considered to be stronger than iron chain embellished with affection, trust and in separable love is tied in brother’s hand by sister. In India this festival is celebrated in a grand manner.
Ladies prepare sweets and buy rakhis etc. and pray to God for their brother’s welfare. Brothers buy gifts and sweets for their sisters. Raksha bandhan is an old festival, even in modern days it is celebrated in all cultures and the celebration differs from place to place in India. The social significance behind this all should live in a harmonious way. To make the celebration a memorable one exchanging rakhi gifts is the great way.
