In Ahaneri village, adjacent to Jaipur, in Rajasthan State, you can see the Chand Baori well. The step well was built in 9th Century. You can see here the 3500 steps and it has thirteen floors and the depth of the well is 100 feet.
These steep well are built for is not only for getting water but also people stay on the base to escape from the heat during the day time. The ornamental design and the pattern of architecture is ensured it as a monument. This Chand Baori steep well is situated on the reverse side of Harshat Mata Temple. The is a story behind this is Ghosts built this steep well in a night.
