Andhra Pradesh is the fifth largest State in India both in area and population. The State stands fifth in the country in industrial development and seventh in respect of output. Andhra is endowed with a rich variety of minerals like barites, coal, limestone, iron ore, copper and has a material monopoly of quality chrysotile asbestos. There are about 500 large and medium scale industries providing employment to about 4 lakh persons.
